Corrections, Retractions & Expressions of Concern
The Journal of AI & Immersive Marketing (JAIIM) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When errors, ethical concerns, or evidence of research misconduct are identified after publication, the journal will take appropriate corrective action in a fair, transparent, and timely manner.
Post-publication actions are intended to preserve the integrity of the published literature rather than to penalize authors. Decisions are made in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics standards and, where appropriate, the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Corrections
A correction may be published when a paper contains errors that do not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions but require clarification or amendment.
Examples include:
- Typographical or formatting errors affecting interpretation;
- Incorrect author names or affiliations;
- Errors in figures, tables, references, or supplementary material;
- Minor inaccuracies in data presentation or metadata.
Corrections will be permanently linked to the original article, and the online version will clearly indicate that a correction has been issued.
Retractions
A published article may be retracted when its findings are determined to be unreliable due to research misconduct, significant error, or serious breaches of publication ethics.
Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
- Fabrication or falsification of data;
- Plagiarism;
- Duplicate or redundant publication;
- Manipulated peer review;
- Major methodological or analytical errors that invalidate the study;
- Ethical approval or informed consent violations;
- Image manipulation or other forms of scientific misconduct.
Retraction notices will remain permanently available, clearly explain the reason for retraction, and be electronically linked to the original article. Unless legal or ethical considerations require removal, the original article will remain accessible to preserve the scholarly record.
Expressions of Concern
An Expression of Concern may be issued when credible evidence raises significant questions regarding the integrity or reliability of a published article but a full investigation has not yet been completed.
Situations that may warrant an Expression of Concern include:
- Ongoing institutional investigations;
- Credible allegations of research misconduct;
- Potential image or data manipulation;
- Unresolved authorship or ethical disputes;
- Other concerns that require further investigation.
An Expression of Concern will remain associated with the article until the matter has been resolved through correction, retraction, or closure of the investigation.
Article Withdrawal
Before publication, authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript by providing a written explanation to the Editorial Office. Following acceptance, withdrawal requests will only be considered under exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Editor-in-Chief.
After publication, articles are normally not withdrawn. Instead, the journal will preserve the scholarly record through formal corrections, Expressions of Concern, or retractions when necessary.
Editorial Responsibility
All post-publication actions are conducted fairly, confidentially, and objectively. Authors will normally be given an opportunity to respond to concerns before a final editorial decision is made, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.
JAIIM follows internationally recognized best practices to ensure that all corrections, retractions, and Expressions of Concern are clearly identified, permanently linked to the affected article, and openly communicated to readers.
