Complaints & Appeals

The Journal of AI & Immersive Marketing (JAIIM) is committed to maintaining a fair, transparent, and accountable editorial process. Authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and other stakeholders may submit complaints or appeals concerning editorial decisions, publication ethics, or journal procedures. All complaints and appeals are handled objectively, confidentially, and without retaliation.

JAIIM seeks to resolve concerns promptly and fairly while maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and the independence of editorial decision-making.

Editorial Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions if they believe that a decision resulted from:

  • A procedural error during the editorial or peer review process;
  • A factual misunderstanding or oversight;
  • Reviewer misconduct or inappropriate reviewer comments;
  • An undisclosed conflict of interest;
  • Relevant evidence that was not adequately considered during editorial assessment.

Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office and should clearly explain the reasons for the appeal together with any supporting evidence. Appeals are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and, where appropriate, an independent editor or additional reviewer may be consulted. The decision reached following the internal appeal process shall normally be considered final.

Complaints

JAIIM welcomes constructive feedback regarding its editorial and publishing activities. Complaints may relate to, but are not limited to:

  • Editorial conduct;
  • The peer review process;
  • Publication delays;
  • Publication ethics concerns;
  • Alleged conflicts of interest;
  • Copyright or licensing issues;
  • Journal policies or editorial communications.

Complaints should include sufficient information and supporting documentation to facilitate a fair and timely investigation.

Ethical Complaints

Allegations involving plagiarism, duplicate publication, image manipulation, authorship disputes, undisclosed conflicts of interest, fabricated data, or other forms of research misconduct will be investigated in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics. Where appropriate, JAIIM may consult relevant institutions, funding agencies, or independent experts.

Investigation Process

Upon receiving a complaint or appeal, the journal will generally:

  1. Acknowledge receipt of the submission;
  2. Conduct a preliminary assessment;
  3. Request additional information where necessary;
  4. Consult relevant editors or independent experts, if appropriate;
  5. Reach a decision based on the available evidence;
  6. Communicate the outcome to the complainant or appellant.

All investigations are conducted fairly, impartially, confidentially, and within a reasonable timeframe.

Confidentiality and Fair Treatment

All complaints and appeals are treated confidentially. Information will only be disclosed to individuals directly involved in the investigation or where disclosure is required by law or necessary to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

Individuals who raise concerns in good faith will not be disadvantaged or subjected to retaliation. Likewise, individuals who are the subject of complaints will be treated fairly and presumed to have acted in good faith until an investigation concludes otherwise.
